Discover is designed to show you things that you’ll find interesting, and it’s quick and easy to pin something you see.

To pin an item from the Discover ribbon:

1. Tap the item you want to pin.
   The Spotlight dialog box appears.
2. Tap Pin it.
3. Tap the name of the Tapestry where you want to pin the item.

7. Create a new tapestry for the item:

• Tap Create New Tapestry.
• Enter the name of the new Tapestry with the on-screen keyboard.
• Tap the Choose Location field.
  A list of your Tapestries will appear.
• Tap the Tapestry your new Tapestry will be inside.

4. Tap Done.

When you’re using a browser, the Pin icon at the top of the page makes it quick and easy to pin an item you like.

1. Use the browser on your Kobo Arc to display the item you want to pin.
2. Tap the Pin icon at the top of the browser.
3. Tap Pin to Tapestry.
4. Select the Tapestry where you want to pin the item.

8. Create a new tapestry for the item:

• Tap Create New Tapestry.
• Enter the name of the new Tapestry with the on-screen keyboard.
• Tap the Choose Location field.
  A list of your Tapestries will appear.
• Tap the Tapestry your new Tapestry will be inside.

5. Tap Done.

Some apps, such as Gallery, include the Pin icon at the top of the page, making it quick and easy to pin. Other apps, such as You Tube, include a Share icon at the top of the page that includes the option to pin to a Tapestry.

To pin an item from an app:
• Open the app that manages the item you want to pin.
  1. Tap the item to select it.
  2. Tap the  Pin icon at the top of the screen.
     OR
  3. Tap the  Share icon.

OR

a. Tap the  Actions icon at the top right of the page.

b. Tap Share.

5. Tap Pin to Tapestry.
6. Select the Tapestry where you want to pin the item.

9. Create a new tapestry for the item:

• Tap Create New Tapestry.
• Enter the name of the new Tapestry with the on-screen keyboard.
• Tap the Choose Location field.
  A list of your Tapestries will appear.
• Tap the Tapestry your new Tapestry will be inside.

7. Tap Done.

You can connect your Kobo Arc tablet to a computer as a storage device, similar to a USB thumb drive. When it’s connected, you can drag and drop content from your desktop to your Kobo Arc.

When you open an app that uses the type of item you’ve added, you’ll either see it, or you’ll be able to import it. For example, if you’ve added any personal photos, you’ll be able to see them when you open an image app like Gallery.

File transfer from a computer is only supported for the following: Windows XP SP2+ with Windows Media Player 10+, Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.5+.

Notes:

• If you’re a Mac user, you’ll need the Android File Transfer app to add EPUBs to your Kobo Arc. You can get this app at http://www.android.com/filetransfer/.
• You can’t read all eBooks with the Kobo app; if you import PDF eBooks or Adobe DRM-protected EPUBS, you’ll need to find another app to read them on your Kobo Arc.

Step 1 of 2: Transfer items from your computer to your Kobo Arc

1. Connect your computer and your Kobo Arc with a micro USB cable.
2. On your computer, double click the USB device named Kobo Arc.
3. For Mac users, the File transfer window will appear on your desktop.
4. For Windows users, double click on My Computer.
5. Drag the content you want to add into the Kobo Arc device. 
6. Safely eject your Kobo Arc.
   Note: Follow the same steps you use to eject a USB stick or camera.

Step 2 of 2: Pin items using an app

After you’ve put items onto your Kobo Arc, you can open them with apps. For example, you can open photos with the Gallery app and play MP3 files with the Google Play Music app. The app should automatically detect files you’ve added to your Kobo Arc.

• See above for details about pinning from an app. Note, however, some apps, such as Zinio and Press Reader, don’t support sharing and therefore don’t allow you to pin items. 

Note: If you aren’t sure which app to use to open an item you’ve added from your computer desktop, or if you can’t see it, we recommend you use Google to search for an app to use. 

You can pin any of the books in your Library, or pin any previews or recommended books. If you pin a book and you later archive it, you’ll still see the pin but will have to download the book before you can read it.

To pin a book from your Kobo Library:

1. Tap the  Home icon on your Kobo Arc.
2. Tap the Reading Tapestry.
3. Tap the  Kobo Library icon.
4. In your Library, press and hold the cover of the book you want to pin.
5. Tap Pin to Tapestry.
6. Tap the Tapestry where you want to pin the book.

10. Create a new tapestry for the item:

• Tap Create New Tapestry.
• Enter the name of the new Tapestry with the on-screen keyboard.
• Tap the Choose Location field.
  A list of your Tapestries will appear.
• Tap the Tapestry your new Tapestry will be inside.

4. Tap OK.

If you have a favorite section or passage in a book, you can pin it to a Tapestry. When you tap the pinned quotation, your book will open. If you pin a quotation and you later archive the book, you'll still see the quotation, but will have to download the book before you can read it.

To pin a quotation from your book:

1. Open the page featuring the text you want to pin.
2. Press and hold a word in the text you want to pin for a few seconds.
   You’ll see a highlight and two two circles at each end of the word, and a text options bar on the page.
3. Drag the   and  icons to select the text.
4. Tap the  Share icon.
5. Tap Pin to Tapestry.Select the Tapestry where you want to pin the quotation.

11. Create a new tapestry for the item:

• Tap Create New Tapestry.
• Enter the name of the new Tapestry with the on-screen keyboard.
• Tap the Choose Location field.
  A list of your Tapestries will appear.
• Tap the Tapestry your new Tapestry will be inside.

6. Tap Done.

If you have an item in one Tapestry that you think belongs in another, you can move it. You can move items around as follows:

• On a Tapestry: From one place to another on the Tapestry.
• Outside: From inside one Tapestry up a level, or to your Home Tapestry.
• Between: From inside one Tapestry to another.
• Inside: Into a Tapestry.

To move the location of an item on a Tapestry:

• Press and hold the item and drag it where you want it to be on the Tapestry.

To move an item up one level:

• Press and hold the item and drag it into the bar at the top of the Tapestry. The level above will open.

To move an item into a Tapestry:

• Press and hold the item and drag it over the Tapestry you want to put it in. The Tapestry will open. 

To move an item to your Home Tapestry:

1. Press and hold the item and drag it into the bar at the top of the Tapestry.
2. Hold the item in the bar until the level above appears.
3. Drag the item briefly down into the Tapestry.
4. Drag the item up again into the bar at the top of the Tapestry.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the Home Tapestry appears.
