If you are having trouble connecting or staying connected over Wi Fi, here are some things you can try:
To connect to a wireless network you must first turn on Wi Fi. If you've enabled Airplane Mode it turns off Wi Fi and you have to turn it on again.
To check that you're connected to Wi Fi:
-
Tap the
Home icon on your Kobo Arc.
-
Put your finger at the top of the screen and swipe about half way down the screen. The notification shade will appear.

-
Tap the
Setting icon.
-
Make certain that the word ON appears at the right of Wi-Fi.
-
If the word OFF appears at the right of Wi-Fi, tap Wi-Fi and connect to a Wi Fi network.
-
If the word ON is visible, check that the connection icon at the top of the screen has at least two bars.
Note: If the signal strength is only one bar, it may not be a strong enough signal, and you need to connect to another Wi Fi network.
You may be in an area that does not have any wireless networks, or where the networks are not available for you to use.
To check for available networks, tap the
Home icon and check for a
Wireless icon at the top right of the screen. If you don't see a wireless icon:
-
Put your finger at the top of the screen and swipe about half way down the screen. The notification shade will appear.

-
Tap the
Settings icon.
-
If required, tap Wi-Fi at the top right of the screen. If you don't see any networks listed, tap Scan at the top of the screen.
You'll see a list of available networks in your area. Networks with a lock icon next to them are networks that require a password if you want to use them. You can try connecting to any networks that don't have a lock icon, or those for which you have a password.
If you can't see a specific network that you want to join, you may not be within range of the network, or the network may not be available (due to technical issues).
If you're still having trouble with Wi Fi, try turning Wi Fi off and then on again to get a new IP address for your Kobo Arc.
To restart Wi Fi:
-
Tap the
Home icon on your Kobo Arc.
-
Put your finger at the top of the screen and swipe about half way down the screen. The notification shade will appear.

-
Tap the word ON at the right of Wi-Fi. You will see the word OFF when Wi Fi is turned off.
-
Wait a minute and then tap the switch to the right of Wi Fi again. You will see the word ON when Wi Fi is turned on again.
If nothing else has worked, try restarting your Kobo Arc:
-
Press and hold the power button until a prompt appears.
-
Tap Power off.
-
Tap OK.
-
Press the On/Off button to restart your Kobo Arc.
-
See if you can connect to Wi Fi.
