Occasionally you may find that your Kobo Arc stops working. There are several simple steps you can take to resolve the problem. Before you begin troubleshooting, plug your Kobo Arc into a power source in case it’s low on power. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, continue with the steps below.
Note that we’ve listed the solutions in the order they are most commonly needed, and we recommend you try each one in this order.
You can restart your Kobo Arc by turning it off and then on again. This will cause any frozen software to shut down and restart normally.
To restart your Kobo Arc:

Press the power button until Power Options appear.

Tap OK.

Wait a few seconds to allow your Kobo Arc to shut down.

Press the power button to restart your Kobo Arc.
To force your Kobo Arc to restart if it doesn’t respond when you press the power button, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
If you can’t turn your Kobo Arc on, it may be low on power. Plug your Kobo Arc in using the wall charger provided in the box.
Because a frozen app can cause performance problems, shutting down your apps will often get your Kobo Arc back to normal. If you know which app is causing the problem, you can force stop it.

Tap the
Home icon on your Kobo Arc.

Put your finger at the top of the screen and swipe about half way down the screen. The notification shade will appear.

Tap the
Settings icon.

Tap Settings.
-
Tap Apps in the Device section.
-
If required, scroll down until you find the name of the problem app.

Tap the name of the app.
-
Tap Force Stop.
-
Tap OK.
When you clear data, you sign out and delete any app-related data, which returns the app to its original state. If you know which app is causing the problem, you can clear only its data.
To clear an app’s data:

Tap the Home icon on your Kobo Arc.

Put your finger at the top of the screen and swipe about half way down the screen. The notification shade will appear.

Tap the
Settings icon.

Tap Settings.
-
Tap Apps in the Device section.

If required, scroll down until you find the name of the problem app.

Tap the name of the app.
-
Tap Clear Data.
-
Tap OK.
If your Kobo Arc freezes or slows down each time you start using a particular app, you can uninstall and reinstall it to try to resolve the problem.
Note: You can’t uninstall the apps that come with your Kobo Arc.
To uninstall an app:

Tap the Home icon on your Kobo Arc.

Put your finger at the top of the screen and swipe about half way down the screen. The notification shade will appear.

Tap the Settings icon.

Tap Settings.
-
Tap Apps in the Device section.

If required, scroll down until you find the name of the problem app.

Tap the name of the app.
-
Tap Clear Data.
-
Tap OK.
To reinstall the app, visit Google Play and download it again.
Note: If you’ve purchased the app, you won’t need to pay for it again. ?
If nothing you've tried has resolved your issue, please call Kobo Customer Care. They may ask you to do a factory reset.
